Apple iPhone 4 pre-orders now sold out?

We have no idea how this happened given the insane problems Apple and AT&T have had processing iPhone 4 pre-orders today, but lots of people (including us) are seeing a July 2 ship date at Apple's online store, or about a week after the next-gen iPhone launches on June 24. Frankly, that's amazing -- we can only imagine the kind of sustained rush it took to cause a sellout of a product virtually no one was actually able to order. So that's Apple and AT&T both sold out -- at this point it's looking like standing in line somewhere come launch day is going to be your best bet, but we'll let you know if we hear any better news.

Exclusive: Motorola Droid X preview

Not interested in waiting until the 23rd for Verizon's big announcement? Don't worry, we've got you covered right now! The Motorola Droid X has probably been one of the worst kept smartphone secrets in recent memory, but after spending two hours with the phone we sort of see why. In short, it's pretty awesome.

How to: pre-order the iPhone 4 (update: third-party retailers best avoided)

It's now less than twenty-four hours until pre-orders for the iPhone 4 kick off, magic is in the air, and you're feeling good -- but where (and how) do you get your name in the system? There'd be nothing more tragic than waking up on the 24th only to discover that your phone isn't arriving on launch day, so let's get things squared away right now so you know what you need to do tomorrow morning.

HTC EVO suffering from glass separation issues?

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/06/evo-glass-20100613-600.jpg

Potential bad news for EVO owners: we're seeing plenty of reports from folks having issues with the lower portions of their screens. Conspiracy theories say that the adhesive holding the glass is failing, causing the screen to peel up a bit and embark on a very slow journey to capacitive independence.

HTC Legend debuts on Virgin Mobile in Canada, glances furtively southwards

iPhone 4 Changes Everything Again. Complete Video Walkthrough !

Folks over at iLounge have posted complete video walkthrough of the new iPhone 4running iOS 4. This has to be the most complete video that I have seen which covers everything from multitasking, iBooks, iMovie, FaceTime video calling to creating folders and more. The only downside is the lack of any audio, which is missing for the most part in the video. So make sure you turn on some music while watching the video.

Motorola Droid 2 fully exposed?

And finally, the puzzle pieces are coming together. There's been a lot of confusion the past few weeks about these two new models for Verizon in Motorola's pipeline, but by all accounts, this seems to be the A955 Droid 2 in its entirety -- the true successor to the original Droid, of course, and a distinctly different product than the more slate-like Xtreme. It looks like Moto has killed off the Droid's major pain points, giving the new model a more tactile keyboard and eliminating the nearly useless d-pad; the shiny bezel around the top half is a matter of personal opinion, but we don't think we mind it from the blurry shots we've seen.

Apple iPhone 4 Razzles and Dazzles

Yesterday's WWDC keynote proves, once again, that Steve Jobs really knows how to put on a show.
In the end, the phone Apple launched this week—a vastly redesigned iPhone 4—is very much like the one that got Gizmodo into all that hot water. Yet, for as much as we already knew—and thought we knew—about this new iPhone, the announcement was still dazzling.
Certainly, Steve Jobs is among the industry's best showman. Of course, it does help to have something significant to show off. Lately, I think Microsoft's Steve Ballmer has too often found himself without much to talk about. Consequently, when he takes the stage, things just get weird. He's not a ringmaster like Steve Jobs.

Samsung: iPhone 4's retina display is nice, but it's no AMOLED

Samsung seems to have taken exception to a little sidenote made by Steve Jobs during his iPhone 4 announcement at WWDC10 this Monday. While waxing poetic on the virtues of IPS, Jobs let us know that he considers it an entirely superior display technology to OLED, and now the world's biggest display maker has a few words to say about it.

iOS 4 GM Release Leaks in the Wild for Public Download !

The GM (Gold Master) release of iOS 4 for iPhone 3GS, 3G and iPod touch 3G, 2G has made its way on the popular file sharing and torrent sites. Unlike all the previous Betas, this release actually doesn’t require registered UDID, and you can restore it on a Windows machine too but it will be pointless as for activation, you will still need iTunes 9.2 Beta which is currently only available for registered developers on Macs.

HTC EVO 4G sold out pretty much everywhere

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/06/evosprintjune2010.jpg

It's being widely reported that the HTC EVO 4G is sold out all over the US -- at brick and mortars and online. And while we can't 100 percent certain that Sprint doesn't have a few hidden away in some of the less traversed pockets of this great land, the fact that they're selling out shouldn't come as a huge shocker.

iOS 4 gold works with any compatible iPhone / iPod touch via iTunes 9.2, jailbreak also updated

Want to get your hands on an iOS 4-equipped device now without being a registered Apple developer? As a number of readers have pointed out, it seems yesterday's gold build release works on any applicable iPhone / iPod touch whether or not its UDID has been sent to the dev center. Now that the previous restraint has been lifted, the only requirement now is a copy of iTunes 9.2 -- currently for Macs only and still blocked by the developer gate, but once you manage to obtain the appropriate files, the only thing in your path is time itself. Sure enough, we just got through installing the build on an unregistered iPhone without a hitch. Details available via Gumball Tech, and please, don't forget to back up your data ahead of time.

HP Enables Print By E-Mail

The ePrint platform will utilize unique e-mail addresses and the Google cloud to remotely print Web pages and documents.
Hewlett-Packard announced Monday its ePrint platform and a line of printers that will print documents or files directly from the cloud. Users simply send a Web page or a document to an e-mail address associated with the printer and the receiving printer or all-in-one device then prints out the material. Documents or files can be stored in the cloud and printed when needed.
"We know that our customers want an easy way to print their content, anywhere, anytime," said Vyomesh Joshi, executive VP of HP's imaging and printing group, in a statement. "We're making that a reality today by giving people the power to print from any Web-connected device -- smartphones, iPads, netbooks, and more -- to any printer in our portfolio above $99."

Adobe Partners to Deliver Flash Content to iPhone and iPad

Apple CEO Steve Jobs has been very clearly and fairly adamant that Adobe Flash is fraught with too many issues to be allowed on the iPhone or iPad platforms. No worries. Adobe has partnered with Greystripe to implement a solution that circumvents Apple's ban on Flash and enables mobile advertisers to deliver Flash content on the Apple devices.
