The long awaited Google Earth app for iPad has just gone live in the iTunes App Store. This is basically Google Earth 3.0 which comes as a universal binary to support both iPhone and iPad. The official description of the app is as follows.

The GM (Gold Master) release of iOS 4 for iPhone 3GS, 3G and iPod touch 3G, 2G has made its way on the popular file sharing and torrent sites. Unlike all the previous Betas, this release actually doesn’t require registered UDID, and you can restore it on a Windows machine too but it will be pointless as for activation, you will still need iTunes 9.2 Beta which is currently only available for registered developers on Macs. 

There were two awkward moments yesterday at Apple's World Wide Developers Conference. A few sites have already made much of Steve Jobs' wireless networking difficulties during his demonstration. But the real awkward moment was when Jobs launched into his defense of Apple's app approval process, which was a kind of "take it or leave it" apologia that, for the most part, didn't answer any of the tough questions about why some apps get turned down.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs has been very clearly and fairly adamant that Adobe Flash is fraught with too many issues to be allowed on the iPhone or iPad platforms. No worries. Adobe has partnered with Greystripe to implement a solution that circumvents Apple's ban on Flash and enables mobile advertisers to deliver Flash content on the Apple devices.

    

WWDC 10 is going to be a huge event for both developers and consumers. Apple has got some cool new things to announce such as the new iPhone 4 / HD. But what are the other things which we should expect from Steve Jobs’ WWDC 10 keynote? Let’s take a look at them.


 

There is currently no way to get Flash on your iDevice, not even for the jailbroken iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. Enters CloudBrowse, an iPhone app available in the US App Store which enables browsing full Flash-enabled websites via a shared web browser on a remote server.

If you’re looking to separate your gizmo from the rest of the crowd, go for the gold — and maybe throw in some diamonds, too.

 

All the Apple iDevices (iPhone, iPad and iPod touch) are designed to be used with fingers. But occasionally, there are times when you wish you had a stylus to operate these devices. This is especially useful for iPad which really fails as a note-taking/drawing Tablet. Due to the capacitive nature of the screen, the traditional styluses don’t work with these devices. This Mi-Stylus “has a special impregnated tip that replicates the physics of the human finger”.

Designer Stuart Hughes, whose is famous for his creativity and innovation has now come up with the worlds 1st solid Gold+Diamond crafted iPad for the elite class. This iPad is “encrusted with 25.5 cts of ‘I’F’ Flawless diamonds, a magnificent total of 53 individually set sparkling gems dwell beautifully in their solid 22ct Apple logo.”



The rear and screen of this iPad are surrounded with a single piece of solid 22ct gold, which weighs 2,100 grams. There are only 10 units of this limited edition 64GB version of iPad WiFi + 3G, each of which costs around US $189,000.

In what looks like a backlash than anything else, HTC has responded to Apple’s patent lawsuit by filing a complaint with ITC (International Trade Commission), asking for sales ban on iPhone, iPad and iPod in US due to alleged infringement of five patents. This story in now turning similar to Nokia and Apple one in which both the parties have filed federal lawsuits against each other. 

If you have been using your iPad on a desk with the official iPad Keyboard Dock accessory, you might have felt the need of having a mouse to control iPad’s screen. This is because it is more convenient to use a pointing device for interacting with a device when it is placed in a standing position on a desk, just like how we do with our desktop monitors, notebooks/netbooks and so on.

We were really willing to see the HP Slate PC in action but sadly HP pulled the plug on it, stating that Intel’s hardware is power hungry and Microsoft’s Windows 7 is not a good Tablet PC operating system. But now, ExoPC has come up with a similar Slate PC, that runs Windows 7 and does 1080p videos.

Data-hungry iPhone owners eager to grab iPads can forgo paying for a 3G model altogether and save a good buck. That is, so long as they’re willing to take a risk.

 

The wait for the new 3G iPad is finally over. I have my hands on the new 64GB Wi-Fi 3G model as I write this, complete with a $30-a-month data plan from AT&T.
