This browser uses proxy servers to reduce the amount of data that needs to be sent to the mobile device. This often results in Opera Mini having faster performance than its rivals.
That doesn't mean it's lacking in features, though. For example, this browser offers tabs, Speed Dial, and a password manager.
Availability
Opera Mini is available for free from the App Store on the Iphone and ipod touch. It can also be downloaded through the iTunes desktop application.
“This app is another step toward Opera's goal of bringing the Web to more people in more places," said Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software. This browser is already available for many other types of phones.
